The African Association of Women in Geosciences exists to connect women and girls with the people, knowledge, and opportunities that help them thrive in Earth science fields.

Our work begins with practical priorities: mentorship, geoscience education, field learning, research exchange, leadership development, and partnerships.

AAWG is inspired by the wider movement supporting women geoscientists and is shaped for local action across African communities, starting with the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
